66 Ford Pickup Truck Off To The Trading Post
Original Painting
DESCRIPTION
This J.C. Black painting captured the symbolic moment a Native American Navajo family decided to leave the tribe and its traditions, driving an American Ford car. The mother is dressed in her elegant velvet dress, hair done in the traditional Navajo style and wearing her most treasured turquoise necklace. The father has his best shirt and hat on. First child is sitting next to the parents meanwhile the other child is saying farewell to her beloved boy who chooses to stay culturally attached to his ancestors traditions, riding a beautiful horse.
The aqua sky is clearing and is full of vibrant clouds in colors of gold, peach and blue. The background has the familiar red rocks of the Four Corners much like Sedona, Arizona. The spring rains have brought the desert to life with grasses in greens and blues along with the scrub pine of the area. This Native American painting by J.C. Black would be a wonderful addition to any art collection.
